I'm curious to see if I start an angry mob with this question. I'm the developer of http://guideguide.me/, a paid Photoshop/Illustrator extension. I've been asked numerous times to port it to Sketch, and thanks to the wonderful community here, it's been pretty easy to do.
I intend to sell my Sketch version of GuideGuide the same as I sell the others. Do you (seasoned Sketch plugin devs) think selling a Sketch plugin will be seen as hostile to the ecosystem? Do you feel like it's hostile to you as a developer of free plugins? I'm sure there will be plenty of "why does this cost money" type reactions, but I'm curious if there might be a general sentiment that what I'm doing is counter to the culture in a negative way.
I'm also curious if selling GuideGuide will prevent me from participating in the notable sketch plugin listings. I presume it probably will since it won't be possible to point to the plugin source, and I imagine most registries aren't set up to flag plugins as free/paid.
Any other thoughts? Care to throw tomatoes at me?
