Size of symbol instance with smart layout enabled?

Smart Layout is awesome feature!
But I don't understand how to get actual size of symbol instance.
layer.frame returns original size, not actual.

It seems to work as expected here, can you please share a sample document + code that exhibits the issue?

Now I see that the problem is on other level. Here is my test file.

I iterate all artboard groups/layers/symbol_instances to get layer frames. To go inside a symbol instance I collect symbol overrides and process layer.master.layers array.

It worked fine before Smart Layout. But now I can't get a valid frame for "Screen Title + Breadcrumb Instance CUSTOM" / "Breadcrumb Instance" / "Link - Breadcrumbs" hotspot, because layer.master.layers provide me original master childs, without Smart Layout transformation applied.

MaximBazarov Ok, my current solution is to dettach symbol instance from master and get all Smart Layout transformation applied automatically.
It's not the best solution, but it works for now.

I have the same problem, but I don't want to detach my symbol instances... because in my example it's a dark mode instance of the light mode original. If we make changes in light mode, the same changes should be visible in dark mode.

I believe your best bet at this point (without falling back on private APIs) is to duplicate() your symbol instance, detach() this duplicate, measure the size of this detached layer group, inspect its children layers and remove() it when you're done.
