I often find myself wishing I could associate notes with artboards in Sketch in order to keep track of things like: design rationale, why certain decisions were made, things to ponder, things to discuss… the list really goes on and on. I've tried a few plugins and they are all too bloated and heavy.
The version I'm currently thinking of injects itself as a section in the inspector, so experience with AppKit is probably a plus. I'm generally not a fan of plugins that inject their UI into Sketch, but I'm not sure if that's because they are inherently horrible, or just haven't been engineered well.

Alternatively, I've mocked up a version the presents itself as an icon pinned to the top-right of the artboard that opens a popover.

The note text could be shared or copied using the Share icon (which would integrate with the native macOS share menu) and ideally would be preserved and stored alongside the export somehow, perhaps in the comments section in the file info panel. No idea if this is possible, or ideal tho.
I'd love to partner with someone to bring this plugin concept to reality. I'd use it every day and have a feeling others would too.
It doesn't seem as tho the forum accepts inline images (unless I'm missing something?). In any case, you can find screenshots of the proposed UI here: https://www.dropbox.com/sh/1tvlsshov50dmzn/AAAXtGKAy0xn292UNSH8_2Gaa?dl=0
